New for January - The Odyssey: A Modern Sequel & More!

New White Wolf titles, pre-orders, new books and audio!

We have a lot of great stuff for you this time out, so I’m going to try to keep most of my comments brief and let the books speak for themselves. It’s been – to put it mildly – hectic. Let’s start with this. A few years back we came to an agreement with Paradox Interactive to bring the two sets of White Wolf World of Darkness clan novels and my own Vampire the Dark ages trilogy, The Grails Covenant, back in eBook and paperback. Big thanks to author C. T Phipps for helping us make the initial contact, and all the support along the way.

Fast forward to last month. We have now signed a much larger deal allowing us to bring back all the old out of print WoD fiction, and they have added audio rights. We’re gearing up slowly because, in many cases, the only way to do it is to clip and scan the old original books and recreate them.  The first couple due out will be ready in the next week or so, and we’ll be working on the first audiobook soon.

We also have a bunch of new pre-orders up. Seriously, if you want to support Crossroad Press authors, one of the best things you can do is to pre-order their books. These sales appear on release day and help provide the visibility necessary for continued sales. Here’s what we have for you this time out.

The Mirror of Eternity – Garrett Boatman 12 March

Little Bones – David Baillie – 2 April

When At Last I Find You – Aaron Gudmunson 07 May

Missed Connection – Michael Laimo – 21 May

Uncle Vincent’s House – Seven Beai –  28 May

New for January we have:

A Breath of Fresh Air – by John B. Rosenman / Tales from the Rain: Early Weird Fiction – by Mark Howard Jones

And now for the big guns… new in Audio.

Joshua Saxon has completed the first audiobook edition of the epic poem by Nico Kazantzakis – The Odyssey: A Modern Sequel. This is over 35 hours of audio, available through Audible, Amazon and Itunes for digital download. A Herculean effort:

“A continuation of Homer’s epic poem, Kazantzakis’s own Odyssey finds Odysseus once again leaving Ithaca on finding that the satisfactions of home and hearth are not as he remembered them. Following an encounter with the former Helen of Troy (now returned to her husband, the king of Sparta, after the ignominious defeat of the Trojans), Odysseus gradually wends his way to Egypt and southward, grappling all the while with questions about the nature of God.

Considered by Kazantzakis himself to be one of his most important works, The Odyssey takes listeners on a richly imagined quest for adventure and understanding with one of literature’s most timeless characters.”
